Android TV, Google TV & boxes setup

How to install IPTV on Android TV or Google TV

For Android TV and Google TV televisions, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV and Android TV boxes.

Step-by-step installation

  1. 1

Install a player from Google Play

Open Google Play on the TV, search for your chosen IPTV player and install it. If the app is only available as an APK, install a downloader or file manager app, then allow it to install apps under Unknown sources in Settings (usually Apps or Device Preferences → Security & restrictions; the exact menu varies by device).

  2. 2

    Add a playlist

Open the player and choose to add a playlist using an Xtream Codes login.

  3. 3

    Enter your login

Enter the server URL, username and password from your Best IPTV UK email and save.

  4. 4

    Update the TV guide

Let the channels load, then refresh or update the EPG in the app's settings so the full guide appears.

  5. 5

    Adjust playback settings

Optionally select hardware decoding and increase the buffer size if your connection is slower.

Common problems

I can't find the Unknown sources setting

On most devices it's under Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions, or Device Preferences → Security & restrictions. On Google TV you may need to enable developer options first under System → About → Android TV OS build.

Video stutters on some channels

In the player settings, switch between hardware and software decoding and increase the buffer size.

The guide is empty

Open the app settings and update the EPG, then wait a few minutes for it to download.

More fixes in our buffering guide, or contact support with your device and app.
